Yesterday we reported on a tease posted by Nintendo in regards to a collaboration with LEGO and now we have the full story on what exactly this is all about. Enter LEGO Super Mario which is dubbed as “not a LEGO Game but much more then a set” as it blends physical blocks and characters with interactive elements built directly into Mario, namely his eyes and chest alongside sound effects.
The set will enable builders to create their own Super Mario worlds with all the usual features including the Goombas, Bowser, Power Up Bricks, Pipes and all and they each interact differently with the main Mario figure. We do also know that this is currently a stand-alone project and is not part of any connectivity with the Nintendo Switch or the Amiibo line of figures either.
As of right now, we have to wait to see more sets to see the full extent of the collaboration and also we’re waiting for a release window and price point of the packs. For a great in-depth look at this new collaboration, we recommend checking out this IGN.com article.
