Thanks to Beast Kingdom I got a chance to play around with, and shoot, their 2019 SDCC Exclusive Aquaman figure. Another entry in their growing DAH (Dynamic 8ction Hero) DC line, joining, Superman, Batman (armored and standard suits), Wonder Woman, Flash and the standard Justice League outfitted Aquaman. This 1/9th scale Aquaman (DAH-007SP) combines the classic gold and green outfit Jason Momoa wore in the eponymous movie plus some inspiration from the New 52 DC comics line version.
He features 30 joints, three sets of swappable hands (fists, open, and gripping), two sculpts, his trident and two wave props.
I had a lot of fun posing Mr. Curry here and I really dig the classic look. It’s a solidly built figure and the hands and heads are easy to swap out. The gold trident is metal has and also has a nice, substantial feel.
No word yet as to whether this will be offered outside of SDCC.
A big shout-out to Beast Kingdom for sharing this figure with us when we visited their booth at SDCC’19. Stay tuned to Exclucollective.com for more coverage of other figures they shared with us including the EggAttack Cyclops.
Trevor is a New York-based Creative Director and business owner. He has a growing collection of 200ish 1:6th scale stock and custom figures (and more and more Lego sets and Mezcos). Toy photography melds his childhood dreams of comic book illustration and film directing with his design talents and – in his mind – justifies the stupid money he spends on these things. When he’s not shooting, he enjoys kayaking, catching up on good TV and building dios.
