We’ve linked back up with Tamashii UK for our first collaboration of 2019 and Dan Leonard (@tinyepicphotos) has turned his lens towards the SHF Dragonball Z Gotenks figure for a limited series.

Check out Dan’s thoughts on the figure after spending time with it on this shoot :

The S.H. Figuarts Super Saiyan Gotenks figure from Bandai & Tamashii nations is a nice little addition to SHF’s ever growing Dragon Ball figure line. The colours are bright and beautifully painted/printed. As to be expected the figure comes with a range of interchangeable faces and hands as well as some attack power accessories in the form of a Kamikaze Ghost and Galactic Donut, which really add some options when shooting this character.

I do however have a few of issues with the figure. 1. I wish it came with Super Saiyan 3 hair and face, which is more commonly seen in the anime. 2. I occasionally struggled to pose because the ankle bands limit the angles you can rotate the foot. 3. And this is mostly a gripe with the scale of all the child/smaller Dragon Ball characters in the SHF line. They don’t scale well with the adult Z fighters because they’re too big. Even with a bit of camera and Photoshop trickery I couldn’t quite get a shot with Gotenks and Piccolo to work. But overall it’s a nice little figure and I’m sure it will be a welcome addition to any Dragon Ball fans figure collection.

If you’re a fan of these shots then you can check out more from Dan over on his Instagram platform @tinyepicphotos and be sure to check out his #WithToysInMind project combining Toy Photography with great causes.

You can pick up your own SHF Gotenks right now over on Comics and Cocktails who have him for a reduced price of £46.99 alongside a large variety of other Dragonball Z figures.
