This months theme is “Movie Recreation” and we’re challenging the community to recreate scenes from their favourite films using their collection of toys and a little imagination. This time its the turn of our very own John Jay sharing his work :
Nightmare on Elm Street 3
For my pic I went with a scene from Nightmare On Elm Street 3. Here’s my step by step set up. I started with an idea search as to what scene I wanted to do and I came across what became my pic. I then got my Freddy, Set, chains, and lights ready and I used an Extreme-sets dio first placing the floor, back wall, and using 6 pillars to hold what would be the roof, holding the strip lights.
Once that was done I set Freddy in place. To hold him in the position I wanted I used blue fun tac. I then set the chains in place, putting one of Freddy’s knife fingers through the chain hole for a more still. After that I set up my strip lights, setting them in place, and getting the right back colour. I then set up my Lumecube with a green filter right where I needed it to be for the front colour. Then I got my camera and started taking pics. After re taking shots and re setting the lights, Freddy, and chains to the right spots, I finally got the shot I wanted. I then downloaded the pic from my camera and did the final edits.
A huge thank you to John for sharing his work for our Monthly Theme. Be sure to find more of his work via his Instagram portfolio @Johnny_jay_85.
