Throughout December we’ll be showcasing work from across the community in a retrospective project dubbed “My Top 3 2018”. Our very own Jason Yang (@workmoreorless)  is up next in our series sharing his personal favourites from 2018 along with a few reason behind why he chose them. Its over to Jason to introduce their selection :

Back the Barge Bounty

The Back the Barge series was one of my favorite from 2018. I had an incredible amount of fun creating the physical prop (which definitely was under-scaled compared to the actual box) and combining it with my favorite go-to Digirama style. Though I wasn’t able to back the barge myself, it was a lot of fun to help promote it through this series!

One of the standout medium-scale line of figures is definitely the Meisho Movie Realization by Tamashii Nations Bandai. Each character across the board are so uniquely inspired by the Samurai aesthetic. Black Spiderman was surprisingly one of my favorite Marvel figure and really popped in this series which incorporated both Digirama as well as diorama techniques.

Without a doubt, the NECA 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles released at SDCC18, are my favorite figures released this year. The careful attention to detail and likeness are what make these figures shine in photos. Cowabunga!

A huge thank you to Jason for sharing their 2018 favourite pieces and if you want to get involved and share your Top 3 then all you need to do is email jack@Exclucollective.com with your 3 creations (toy shots, customs or dios) along with your name and a few paragraphs explaining your choices.
