“Stories of imagination tend to upset those without one.”

Terry Pratchett

Knights, wizards and a lot of epic stories – for decades the fantasy genre provided us countless hours of entertainment. Although the essential ingredients are almost always the same, the fantasy genre is still able to amaze.

These days most people are into superhero movies but even these movies were nothing without fantasy movies. Iron Man or Batman – these dudes are the modern age knights in hight tech armor.

Another cool thing about fantasy movies are the heavy weapons and cool mounts. Two-handed swords, Axes or huge shields to defend the king – so much room for imagination and excessive use of creativity.

Oh, to keep it traditional another important thing are dragons! Every GoT fan will agree that dragons are simply awesome. Every fantasy movie should have dragons or at least something similar.

Some people may think that the genre is dead but to me it’s more than alive and will always be an huge influence for my photography. Hopefully more companies will keep medieval genre alive for years to come. And for those interested the figures I used for this gallery were Tyrael and Lich King by Neca, Dragon Mutant by Papo, the bird and red dragon are made by Schleich
