Go behind the scenes with Exclu creative Spencer Witt on his recent Iron Giant series :

The 1999 animated film, The Iron Giant, is one of my favorite childhood movies. There have been multiple figures made of the Iron Giant, but most have been larger format, expensive figures. Many toy photographers, including @workmoreorless have shot the Mondo Iron Giant beautifully, and made me jealous of not having that figure.

However, as soon as 1000Toys announced their own 7 inch version of the figure, at a much more affordable cost, I knew I had to have him. The figure is extremely well built, with Die Cast metal parts, and is extremely articulated, he is one of my favorite figures released this year. As he only stands about 7 inches tall, I knew it would be a little harder to make him stand out and look real, as in the movie, the Iron Giant is huge. I knew I wanted to purchase some miniature trees, and build a make-shift forest diorama for him. I incorporated with my mini forest, a “Digirama” background, with stars and forest to help blend the scene together.

Iron Giant - 1st appearance

I have quite a few ideas and shots in mind with this figure, but here is an exclusive shot I prepared for Exclu. If you are a fan of the movie, I highly recommend picking up this figure before he sells out.
