Every now and then a real gift comes your way and this time we have Brian Rungkat to thank for some gorgeous work on the Mezco One:12 Daredevil figures with a quick look behind the scenes too. Check out his set-up and process below in his own words :

I wanted to re-create a classic scene where Daredevil is on top of a church and looking down (listening is probably more appropriate) at hell’s kitchen.

Equipment used:

  • Sony NEX 7
  • Mezco PX daredevil
  • 1/6 gargoyle stand
  • A tv as background
  • Two usb lights
  • A powerbank

I used a tv as background, a piece of diorama of a damaged Church and a gargoyle that is supposedly for 1:6 scaled figure.

After finding the angle, the next challenge is the lighting. Church window can be really colourful and can be quite beautiful so I used a blue sprayed USB light and as well as a red one.

Let me show you the full set up :

In addition, I used two red coloured lights on the sides and a white light on the top to balance it out.

Furthermore, since the tv itself is a source of light, in order to make the figure popped, I used my phone to light painted the figure. After a few tries and a quick Lightroom edits. below is the final result.

I hope you enjoyed the picture as much as I did creating it!

A huge thank you goes out to Brian for putting this together for our Marvel Knights theme which is taking place right now across the Exclu platform. Be sure to stay up-to-date with all of Brian’s work over on Instagram via @akirajo9.
